#36 Bomba Con Buya
/There are many people who try to separate the concept of Blackness and Latinidad. A basic history book or pressing play on some of our favorite music can quickly show you that is not true. Today's guest are members of a musical group called Bomba Con Buya based out of Chicago. Bomba music is an Afro-Boricua genre rooted strongly in drum rhythms.
As their website says:
Bomba Con Buya first went viral with a video of them jamming on the Blue Line (train) in Chicago. They chat with us about the origins of the music, how they got started, and recording their popular video "Candela" in Puerto Rico.
It's a fun episode with a bunch of guests so we hope you enjoy Familia!!
